Reform UK boosts funds to £1.5m after Nigel Farage's return

Reform UK has raised £1.5m in funds after Nigel Farage's return as leader, boosted by new members and donations from prominent figures like Holly Valance and Charlie Mullins, despite facing copycat attacks like milkshake-throwing.

Reform UK has acquired £1.5 million in funding since Nigel Farage retook the helm as party leader. The funding surge stems from small donations from new members and significant pledges from wealthier supporters, such as singer-actor Holly Valance.

YouGov's recent poll shows Reform trailing the Conservatives by a mere one percentage point, fueling concerns for the Conservatives about their right-wing base.

Farage will receive additional security from the Home Office following incidents where objects were hurled at him during his campaign. However, police emphasize that it's impossible to fully prevent such attacks.

New members, prompted by the party's increased visibility and poll ratings, have significantly contributed to the financial boost. Reform UK now boasts 45,000 members, with over 14,000 joining in the past week.

Charlie Mullins, a prominent supporter and former critic of Brexit, has joined the party. Other supporters include property developer Nick Candy, who recently praised Labour leader Keir Starmer.

Reform UK has hired Farrant Group, a London-based communications firm, to enhance its communications strategy and public image.

Despite the financial boost, Reform UK's budget remains significantly lower than that of major parties like the Conservatives and Labour. However, the influx of funds from new members indicates a growing support base for the party.
